#Blogpost 11- Smelling positivity with Sugandhco.

Image
There are various things we Lucknowites are proud about and one of them is Sugandhco . Fragrances and exotic itar have always been an integral part of Oudh's culture.  The credit for patronizing and popularizing the perfumery in Lucknow goes to the Nawabs of Oudh, particularly to Nawab Wajid Ali Shah. In 1850's, when the itar industry was in the doldrums, Mr. Chhunnamal Vijayvergiya initiated a perfumery business in Lucknow, that would reach the masses. Smell that represents our culture and elegance. This initiative took place in 1980 with Sugandhco and in no time these innovative blends came into high demand.  The fragrances created here are of high quality. They fuse the traditional knowledge of perfumery into modern trends serving us with some great smells to flatter. The process employed to extract itar is still age old. Simply explained, itar is the pure extract of flowers in sandalwood oil. It forms an ideal base for perfumes as, during distillation,...

Its super basic and super versatile.  Layer it up with a jacket or a sweater or simply wear it with your basic skinny blue jeans. Tuck it with a leather skirt or pair it up with your favorite shorts. So much to do with a solid white tee!  When nothing satisfies the mind, a white shirt always comes to the rescue. Its quite difficult to find your perfect white shirt but once you have it, you can style it in various ways.  Style tip: My favorite style ...

#Blogpost 9- Indigo, the 'Blue Gold'

Image
Popularly said by Marc Jacobs- Clothing is a form of self-expression. There are hints about who you are in what you wear.  This one comes with my favorite concept of style these days, Indigo!  The power of Indigo: –  Stunning deep-blue color – Natural resource: the indigo plant – Natural dye process Hey there,  Are you guys also obsessed with indigo printed bags, cotton kurtas, dupattas etc? I believe, Indigo describes purity and elegance. It simply turns all repression and fears down. How about some blue food vibrations: blueberries, grapes or blue plums!  Last month I visited westside stores, their ethnic section being my all time favorite.  I spotted a solid Indigo colored kurta and also tried a lot to add any block printed dupatta in Indigo but failed. (I'm still up with the mission though) But till then, I thought of wearing the same like a casual dress. Here is the look that I created with the kurta, an Indigo block-printed bag and so...

#Blogpost 7-Don't t take it casually! Styling those everyday casuals.

Image
It's popularly said, dress how you want to be addressed. Buy less but choose well. Casuals is not a style. It is feeling your everyday comfort with elegance and fashion. In the European tradition, casual is the dress code that emphasizes comfort and personal expression over presentation, formality, and conformity. Also referred to as leisure wear. It's great to experiment with your style statement and follow on growing trends but then too who wants to compromise their comfort and ease. Informal, semi-formal or casual wear always comes to a rescue and trust me, there can be nothing more stylish then casual clothing. Firstly, let's start by differentiating between formal wear and casual wear.  Casual wear includes Tee-shirts, jeans, jackets, khakis, hoodies, summer dresses, skirts, sneakers for example when you're going out for shopping or hanging around with your friends. Casual wear is usually made from materials such as cotton, jersey, denim, polyest...

#Blogpost 6- Zaika-e-Lucknow !

Image
I don't claim myself to be a food blogger here but because I belong from Lucknow, writing about its cuisine is something I am really interested in. Nawabs has always been great patrons of art and culture and food automatically becomes an essential part of it. 'Muskuraiye aap Lucknow me hain.' can also be said as 'Kuch khaiye aap Lucknow me hain.' Awadhi cuisine is now a forefront of Indian cuisine and Lucknow was actually the area where most of these food innovations took place.  I'm not referring to any restaurant or name here in particular but generally talking about Lucknow's famous street food joints and places to hoop on. Lucknow has a unique vibe for food and yes we are more than just kebabs! I'm a vegetarian and this adds more when I'm saying this. Like every city, Lucknow has different 'Khomchas' and some famous munching points.  This one is dedicated to those famous and  mouth-watering places which are your must try ...
