#Blogpost 16- Beginners guide about makeup brushes with Urban Decay.
Kabuki, pointies, flats, buffers, stipplers etc. Yea, of course, we all are not experts but for our daily vanity needs, there are some basic makeup tools and brushes we all need.
To start with, do not get confused by so many different kinds of brushes out there. As a beginner, just concentrate on having a basic set of brushes and basic tools you need for your everyday makeup.
Even I don't know much. (still learning!) Obviously, we will learn and experiment later.
This one from Urban Decay Naked 3 was my first box of brushes and I still feel it was perfect for a beginner like me to start my makeup journey with. I ordered this box way back from Amazon.
I'm not really sure if I should say it's from Urban Decay when in fact these brushes are actually replicas from the authentic one. This includes 12 different types of brushes. Portable, soft and good if you are a beginner with the usage of brushes.
Besides brushes, a sharpener, nail filer, a tangled teezer hairbrush for those wet tangled hair, an eyelash curler to build your perfect fuchsia lashes and a beauty blender for any kind of application are some of the other tools everyone shall have.
Now let's talk about this one.
1- The first brush is a powder brush. A primary function of a powder brush is to apply and dust off the powder or the compact from your face. It helps to set your base perfectly. Dust off the excess and apply your powder in circular motions.
2- This brush is a fushed face brush perfect for your blush application. Also, you can use this to bronze your face. It's fluffy, angled brush and perfect to add that definition to your face.
3- Flat foundation brush- Squeeze a bit of foundation on the back of your hand and gently start applying the same on your face with the brush. Keep on blending for a smooth finish.
4- Fourth one and the sixth brush is a large and basic angled brow brushes perfect for your eyebrows. Its perfect to apply and fill the powder or even for applying gels or cream. You can have a separate kit for your eyebrow or can even use your eyeshadow powders to fill your brows.
5- The Fifth brush is something to use as a concealer brush, and also for priming and applying your basic eyeshadow.
6- Seventh and ninth brush are medium and large eyeshadow brushes basically. An eyeshadow brush is used to evenly apply powder or cream eyeshadows on your eyelids. You can use your large eyeshadow brush to highlight your browbone.
7- Eighth brush can be used as a flat foundation brush as well as to conceal around your cheeks.
8- Tenth and twelfth brushes are for the lips. Twelfth one can be used for lining your lips and tenth one for filling up the same.
9- The Eleventh one is an eyeliner brush. It is perfect if you want a perfectly straight edge. You can use this to fill up your upper lashes with your gel eyeliner and also to smudge out and create a smokey eye look.

So you see how you can use one brush for multiple uses. But also, never forget to clean your brushes once in a week. Just note down the list of these basic brushes you need to add-
