#Blogpost 17- Munch some seeds for better nutrition and health.

Okay. 
You guys might be wondering what this is but there are certain seeds you should be eating! 
Seeds are super rich in nutrients and fiber and are great for your skin and health. They can help you in losing weight and keep heart diseases & accumulation of LDL cholesterol in check.

A friend of mine recently introduced me to eating healthy seeds to deal with my daily health and immunity. There are more than five but here I'm gonna talk about five seeds which I consumed religiously for a month and I can totally feel the difference. This made me anxious about writing a blog post and to share the same with you guys. Yeah, they are super healthy and most of us ain't eating any of them.
What I did was, I purchased the seeds, mixed them well in the desired proportion and crushed them in a fine powder. ( Best way is to eat the variety. ) I stored the same in a jar and consumed a spoon of that powder daily with my breakfast or before going to bed. You can also add the same as a dressing on your salads or add them to your favorite smoothie. Also, refrigerate the powder and consume it within a week. Drink plenty of water after taking the powder.
My basic concern stood for healthy skin and weight loss, so accordingly I made a choice of these seeds mentioned below. Obviously, you cannot rank them. It depends on what your body is asking for at a given time. Again this blog post is totally personal and shares my view on the same. (And I am not a health expert! )

Let's talk about each of them in detail-

1- Flax Seeds- 
Flax seeds or Alsi in Hindi helps in reducing belly fat by increasing thermogenesis ( a process by which fat is burnt). It perfectly balances the hormones which contribute to weight loss.
Apart from weight loss, these are a rich source of protein and fiber. They will fill you up with very little calories and promotes healthy digestion.
You can also separately make a powder of flax seeds and can sprinkle the same on salads, soups etc.





2- Pumpkin Seeds- 
Pumpkin seeds for weight loss is an excellent source of zinc that triggers healthy metabolism and muscle building. They are also great for regulating blood sugar levels and slows down bloating of the body.
Roast the seeds before consuming them for a better snack!





3- Chia seeds-
While seeds are healthy, chia seeds are in a different league altogether. It’s packed with omega 3 fatty acid, iron, magnesium, and potassium among a lot of other micronutrients.
It boosts your energy level. They are, according to me, the superfoods of the nutrition industry!
Chia seeds benefits include promoting healthy skin, reducing signs of aging, supporting the heart and digestive system, building stronger bones and muscles, and more.




4-  Sesame seeds- ( Both white and black ) :
Sesame seeds or Til ( in Hindi ) are popularly used in dressing and toppings of meals. ( and yeah even their laddos! )
It has 5 main nutrients: fiber, zinc, magnesium, calcium, and vitamin E. They reduce hypertension, prevents cancer and diabetes, build your bone health and improves digestion.
Also, sesame seed oil has been shown to reduce the appearance of burns and marks on the skin, as well as signs of premature aging.
You can also sprinkle these over your cereals, rice, noodles or any other dishes at mealtime. You could even mix them with your yogurt or smoothie for a rich nutty flavor.




5- Watermelon seeds- 
The most surprising and impressive benefits of watermelon seeds include their ability to boost hair health, support beautiful skin, increase energy, lower blood pressure, stimulate digestion, regulate blood sugar, build strong bones, and lower cholesterol levels.
These seeds are rich in certain nutrients and antioxidants and can be prepared in a number of ways to enjoy along with the juicy, pink fruit. 





If you are looking for a quick and healthy snack, eat more seeds! I would recommend you to eat only organic seeds, in their raw state. Obviously, there are many types of seeds that I left off this list, but the seeds listed above are my personal favorites.
