I don't claim myself to be a food blogger here but because I belong from Lucknow, writing about its cuisine is something I am really interested in. Nawabs has always been great patrons of art and culture and food automatically becomes an essential part of it. 'Muskuraiye aap Lucknow me hain.' can also be said as 'Kuch khaiye aap Lucknow me hain.' Awadhi cuisine is now a forefront of Indian cuisine and Lucknow was actually the area where most of these food innovations took place.  I'm not referring to any restaurant or name here in particular but generally talking about Lucknow's famous street food joints and places to hoop on. Lucknow has a unique vibe for food and yes we are more than just kebabs! I'm a vegetarian and this adds more when I'm saying this. I'm not kidding here, but for this summer, gingham has been a deep down obsession for me!   The classic picnic blanket print just got a refresh! The truth is that gingham does not mean check or checked, it actually means striped. But, when you’re dealing with a fabric that’s over five hundred years old, naturally some things do get lost in translation. "Gingham" comes from the Malayan word genggang, or "striped." The fabric and its trademark checks became increasingly more prevalent until it was one of the most common and recognizable fabrics in the world, seen on Southern literary types, and London bankers alike.
